Getting to Charleston is easy. Leaving is always difficult.

  1. Charleston International Airport is located only 12 miles from downtown Charleston, approximately 17 minutes from Charleston Place, door to door. The majority of all flights traveling to and from Charleston are on Delta and USAir from their respective Atlanta and Charlotte hubs. Total, there are 22 flights a day from these 2 cities whose airports play host to countless flights world-wide.

In addition, non stop jet access also comes from the Eastern Seaboard - Boston, New York, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington (over 25 non stops per day), the Midwest - Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati and Memphis (14 non stops daily), not to mention 6 non stop flights from Dallas and Houston daily.
  3. As of February 2008, discount airline AirTran joined the Charleston flight schedule with 4 flights per day to and from their Atlanta hub. Quickly adding to the competition, it is now not surprising to see low fares to and from locations such as Chicago, New York, Dallas, and Atlanta.
