Testimonials
“WOW! That about sums up the thoughts of our counsel members - they were so impressed with the site, location, and hospitality. We had great meeting discussions as well. It was truly a great few days in all aspects. (The hotel) did a wonderful job in arranging our business sessions and planning our off-property events. Everyone enjoyed all the dining experiences - if anything, they complained there was too much and too good - they couldn’t resist.”
- Karen Gray, Nationwide Insurance
“The Hotel is in the heart of everything that represents Charleston, you just have to walk out the door. Everyone I dealt with could not do enough for you. Whenever changes need to be made, and they always do, they were handled quickly and I never felt that it was, in any way, a bother. I manage several groups within my company that provide customer support and from that point of view, I can tell you that everyone from the server to setup to your manager provides excellent service.”
- Michael Ackerman, End User Customer Support Manager ITC
“In the past fourteen years, I have had the responsibility for directing three of these conferences and have attended at least a dozen. I can say without equivocating that this was the best conference of them all, not because of my efforts, but due to the superb staff and hotel facilities of the Charleston Place.
The hotel staff there is extremely professional, totally committed to pleasing guests and conferees, and they will work until the job is done. No clock-watching for them. No short cuts for them. No alibis or excuses ever offered. And, if asked for a favor or assistance, none hide behind the position that what is asked is “not within their job description or assigned duties or responsibilities.” In summary: The best hotel staff I have ever worked with or observed.
Planning for the conference was extensive, even exhaustive. Not once did any of the staff complain or have any comment other than “what else can we do for you?”. Unless one has been responsible for such a conference, one cannot appreciate how comforting that attitude is.
I trust that you will read my letter personally and see to it that proper recognition is given to those whom I have described herein. It was 14 years ago that I was director of this same conference when South Carolina was host state. We held it in the Omni Hotel, now Charleston Place. Improvements in the hotel property are quite noticeable, but the greatest improvement is in the staff that serves its hotel guests. They deserve your notice.”
-Victor Robinson, Southeast United States/Japan Trade Association
“Charlie thanks again to you and Paul for the great hospitality on short notice even with your near-full-house, the service in every single department and from every employee we came in contact with was exceptionally warm, sincere, helpful and friendly…..You guys have always done a top-notch job, but it just seemed to me that things must have been ‘taken up a notch’ recently, and I was wondering if you’d done anything new and different with regard to training.”
- Tom S. Levine, American Express
“This hotel staff was by far the most attentive to detail and helpful that I have ever worked with. I had a small budget, but they worked with me in all ways to have a wonderful event. Would most definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to working with them again next February.”
- Donna Fricke, Bellsouth Business Systems
“I have many choices on where I can hold meetings in the Southeast, Charleston Place exceeded all of my expectations. Without any question, I will recommend your hotel to many more of my colleagues. I can't stress enough the help that both Scott and Jordan extended to me. As you know setting up and conducting a meeting can be time consuming and sometimes stressful. Scott and Jordan help make one aspect of my meeting run flawless which allowed me to concentrate on other things.
In addition I will be back for an extended personal stay in the near future. I talked about your hotel so much when I came home my wife advised me I will be going back, this time with her.
Thanks again for your commitment to achieving excellence.”- Sean Griffith, Pfizer
“You have a beautiful hotel in a lovely city, but the people you work with make the experience exceptional. I have been told many times that this was the best event the company has had (we spend a great deal on large meetings, retirement parties, galas etc). Thank you for really investing in the best people I have ever worked with in my days of event planning both corporate and personal (weddings). I can not begin to tell you how great it was to work with people who really seemed personally vested in my satisfaction. It felt more like a group of friends planning an event. What a joy!”

“When we walked into the Riviera on our wedding night, I could have fainted! It was exactly how I wanted it; everything was perfect from our bouquets to the lemons in the vases to the gorgeous white sprays of flowers. It was all magnificent! I really cannot tell you how great a job you did. You blew away my expectations.”

“Every mom’s dream is to have her daughter’s wedding day be perfect. I want to thank you so much for helping to make that happen. Words cannot describe the ambiance you created for Jen and Brian’s wedding. The floral arrangements, bouquets, and halos were magnificent. People are still talking about Jen’s bouquet and the floral arrangements. The special lighting, linens, and chair covers helped create a soft and romantic look. I had a vision in my head on how I wanted everything to look. You brought that vision to life with your professionalism and artistry.”
